DMX's Ruff Ryders anthem showcases the many aspects of a Ruff Ryder's lifestyle. DMX has always been known for his love of the pitbull breed and even goes by the name of Dog to those close to him. During the development of Ruff Ryders lifestyles this love for the breed spawned Ruff Ryders Game Dog. The ceo's of Ruff Ryders where active gamedog breeders and activists so it was only natural to incorporate this aspect when creating Ruff Ryders lifestyles. Because of the bad reputation of dog fighting Ruff Ryders was forced to changed the name from "Game Dog" to "Ruff Ryders Dog Division." There was even a Ruff Ryders Game Dog brand food sold on shelves at local pet shops. Today Ruff Ryders Dog Division has grown and taken on other breeds outside of pitbulls with award wining K9's across the nation.
Ruff Ryders Entertainment sign "JIN" the 106&park freestyle Friday champion. Capitalizing off of his Asian heritage Ruff Ryders focused the marketing of his campaign around tuner cars. Fast and Furious along with other Hollywood blockbusters began shining the spotlight on this lifestyle here in the USA. Jin even played a roll in Fast and Furious 2 and was also featured on the soundtrack. When showing up to shows Jin Was always accompanied by tuner and show cars branded in with Ruff Ryders logos. After the Jin/tuner car campaigne was over the Ruff Ryder lifestyle that was birthed from this lived on giving us "Ruff Ryders Car & truck."
After the mainstream release of Ruff Ryders Athem by DMX feat Swizz Beatz a motorcycle revolution was started. Bike sales went up, more people wanted to ride in large numbers, and any trike performed on a sportbike was considered Ruff Ryding or a Ruff Ryder. After touring the country a member of the stunt team realized that there was a following for the Ruff Ryders stunt team outside of the following for the music and artist. This is when Ruff Ryders decided to extend it's brand to the streets. At the time it had to make business sense for the betterment of the music label so the brand was licensed to local markets to create the ultimate street team to assist in record promotions. Since then this venture has taken on a life of it's own with divisions that represent the lifestyle of an urban NYC native; hence the name "Ruff Ryders Lifestyles" aka "RRLifestyles" for short.
